About Jon

Jon has worked exclusively in the workplace relations space for over a decade, initially as an employment lawyer and then as an in-house practitioner.  

Jon joined Wise Workplace Solutions in 2013 and has since applied his expertise and experience in conducting complex workplace investigations, providing employment legal advice and supporting our clients in their preparation and implementation of EBA strategies and major change initiatives such as restructuring. 

Employment Legal Experience…

From 2003 to 2006 Jon practised employment and industrial relations law with leading law firm Allens Arthur Robinson and boutique employment law firm, Australian Business Lawyers.  As a lawyer, Jon worked across a range of industries, including professional services, manufacturing, transport and health.

Corporate ER Experience…

Jon joined the Coles Group of companies in 2006 as a State HR Advisor responsible for providing employment advice to a wide range of retail companies (including Coles Supermarkets, Kmart, Target and Officeworks) in relation to the management of long term ill and injured workers and complex employee cases, as well as conducting investigations into bullying, harassment and misconduct.

Jon then moved to Target in 2008 and became its national Workplace Relations Manager, responsible for the negotiation and implementation of Target’s enterprise bargaining agreements, industrial relations strategies, managing and advising on complex employee cases and the management of employment litigation.

Qualifications…

Jon holds a Bachelor of Law (Hons) at Adelaide University, as well as a Master of Arts (Foreign Affairs and Trade) at Monash University and a Graduate Diploma in Labour Relations Law at Melbourne University.  Jon holds a current legal practising certificate.
